Cath Hodsman will demonstrate the techniques she uses to create a beautiful study of the bumble bee on a flower. Many of the techniques you'll learn can be used for other wildlife, flora and fauna. Cath's guidance will give you more confidence to paint on a small scale and you will leave with a bundle of knowledge and painting skills

Location - All Saints Church Hall, Church Road, Winterbourne Down, Bristol, BS36 1BX.
Timings - 10am to 4pm
Ability - All abilities welcome including beginners.
Outline - Cath Hodsman has a passion for entomological microscopy art and she pays homage to her beloved insects through the medium of art and by striving to obtain 100% anatomical accuracy in her intricate and beautiful studies. This is a workshop for anyone who has an enthusiasm for learning more about our native bumble bees and capturing them in watercolour. The day will begin with getting up close and personal with the beautiful bees using microscopes plus the added opportunity to view Cath’s bee collection! Cath will demo her botanical approach to painting the bumblebee, guiding you through her process. You will then start your own painting and with the step by step guide and the skills you’ve learned you’ll be able to continue your bumblebee masterpiece both in the classroom and in your own time.
